In 1996 using various aircraft we began monitoring the resident population of marine turtles along the west coast by carrying out regular flights over a defined section of coast.
Nesting Beaches
Scientists from Kelonia maintain monitoring programmes on many turtle nesting beaches recording turtle nesting success and activity as well as associated biological activity such as nesting periodicity, numbers of eggs laid, hatching success, etc.

MANAGEMENT PLAN
All the information gathered at Kelonia is entered into the Geographic Information System of the marine environment of Reunion Island and thus contributes to sound integrated management of the littoral zone.
TURTLE WATCHING CHARTS
Two observational charts were created by Kelonia in order to inform the public of the behaviour to follow in order to observe these animals in their natural habitat without being of detriment to them.
